Six-year-old Victoria Williams, affectionately known as “Turtle”, received the original diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on June 13, 2017 at 22 months of age. Our young warrior battled triumphantly and celebrated on August 17, 2019 with an “End of Chemo” celebration on her 4th birthday.
In October 2021, Turtle relapsed and is once again fighting cancer 24/7.
Turtle’s journey is the inspiration for the Turtle Will Triumph, Inc. Foundation which was founded in November of 2018. We are so grateful for Turtle’s pediatrician, oncologists, and all medical staff at Nemours Children’s Hospital. It feels absolutely amazing to be able to give back to a place that has given so much to us and so many others.
“Our mission is to bring comforting distractions to families currently battling pediatric cancer. Cancer in a child is a family changing diagnosis. We strive to not only comfort the patient but also parents/caregivers and siblings. We live by the mantra "It mattered to that one." No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone. One ripple of kindness can turn into a wave. We hope to create those ripples and be a part of those waves!”
Here are some of the ways the Turtle Will Triumph Inc Foundation gives back: • Each year for Turtle’s birthday we sponsor a lego/toy drive for inpatients and siblings • "Turtle Treat" bins that we keep supplied with snacks and fun little prizes for the oncology inpatients, infusion center patients, and parents/caregivers • Trick or Treat bags for the kids in the infusion center • Books for Patients and Siblings at Nemours Children’s Hospital • Dinner/Christmas party for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House and the staff and patients of the connecting Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando. • Filling and Distributing “Turtle Power” gift bags • Toy Drives • Music Therapy Instrument Drive • Gift Card Drives • Special Deliveries
Behind every successful foundation, there is an army of dedicated people donating time, money, effort, skill and so much more. Every time you like, share, or donate to a foundation, you are part of that army. Please consider increasing our Turtle Power and join the Turtle Will Triumph, Inc. Foundation army!
